What’s up in 2017 for The ZIPPER JUNCTION Project

ZIPPER JUNCTION

I cannot wait for 2017!

In case there was any doubt, I am excited – really excited for the coming year. 2016 was an “interesting“ year to say the least. Aside from all the major events that took place all over the world and in the United States, those of us here at The ZIPPER JUNCTION Project™ kept our head down and continued to do the work we promised we would do. Some went better than expected and some did not. But there is never any wrong in the process, as long as we stay committed and move forward.

2016 was a time for us to finish the outreach portion of the initiative. We wanted to take the temperature of the community to see if our ideas and plans would be embraced. We spent almost a year and half doing that, meeting with organizations, businesses, individuals, holding town hall meetings, hosting small events and intimate gathers. We needed to make sure folks understood what we were doing and why. We wanted them to know we meant no harm, wanted to improve things, and most importantly, whether they were an individual or a business, an organization or a school, they were welcome to be a part of it.

The Board of Directors as well as our Senior Advisory Group had to determine if The Project would move forward based on the feedback we received. If the results were more negative than positive, we would shelf the ideas indefinitely. But if the results were more positive than negative, we would begin to make this happen.

POSITIVE they were! We are so excited to begin assembling the nuts and bolts of The ZIPPER JUNCTION Project™ to make it a reality. It will be a long road, a really long road to get us to the ultimate vision and place we designed. In order to do that, there is a series of steps we will follow.

From the initial pre-phase which will be rolled out in the coming weeks to the Three Major Phases to build out The Project, you are all invited to come along! In fact, we will need all the help we can get. We will need volunteers, experts willing to share their knowledge, monetary and in-kind donations, networking, general support and exposure (think social media sharing), publicity, and on and on. Keep a keen eye for the calls to action, and do not be afraid to get involved.

Now that I hopefully got you excited about the possibilities for The ZIPPER JUNCTION Project™, I would like to wish you a New Year filled with Health, Happiness, and advanced thanks for your involvement in what will be one of the most significant things in a very long time. Together we can do anything!

One final thought. Lots of folks do not believe in moon shot thinking anymore. I am not one of them. I believe in the power of setting enormous goals, building an inclusive team and community focused on the goal, and working tirelessly to achieve them. Nothing is impossible, nothing! I cannot wait to work on making the impossible possible with you!
