ZIPPER JUNCTION

changeChange is the only constant that we can rely on. Change happens whether you want it or not. Change happens whether you are ready or not. But if you are constantly ready for it, even on the forefront of it, the likelihood is that you can create an optimal situation for yourself.

In this post-9/11 world we live in, the US is in a different position than it used to be in. We all knew things had changed forever, and then came the economic shift of 2008. That’s when everything really came home: I saw the need for a big shift in our town as a means of resilience, to set our kids up to be OK no matter what change comes, by empowering them to seek other options for income than that good ole’ 9-5 “American Dream.” That dream just isn’t so stable anymore. And in realizing the need for an alternative, I saw an opportunity to position our community at the forefront of this new world we are all embarking on. And thus we have The ZIPPER JUNCTION Project: our answer for change.

The beauty of all of this is that YOU have a choice – you can resist change or you can accept it, you can rise to meet the challenge or you can shrink down and pretend it isn’t happening. So I ask you: why not empower yourself to be a change-agent by choosing to pursue your passion and in doing so,  inspire others around you to do the same. Through The Project, we aim to create opportunities and facilitate experiences for people to do just that – to seek out their passion, so they can pursue a career that they LOVE – that lights them up, that allows them to be resilient and successfully move forward, no matter what change happens around them.

So – how will you weather the change? Are you going to sit back and let it happen to you, or are you going to be on the forefront of it?

If you want to be on the forefront of it, then I want to invite you to come out to our Town Hall Meeting this coming Wednesday, April 22 at 7p at the Wallenpaupack Area High School. You’ll have an opportunity to hear more about what we’re doing, to ask questions and ultimately, to get involved in the change that is coming to our area. You can get some more details right here. I strongly encourage you to take action and at the very least, come out and see what this is all about.
